Prompt – Id do things differently

I’d do things differently, had I known the future . I would have had a soulful conversation with my wife over a cup of hot tea. But then there was the Australian video conference  to rush to.. I would have given my ailing father a hug in the warm afternoon but then there was the emergency in UK that I had to sort. I would have read bedtime stories more often to my little princess  but then who would update the American boss? All this  only to realize that a Global operations manager can be sacked at a months’ notice with just a word – Downsizing.

Love of a different kind – for the same prompt

I’d shower you with all my love and affection .Your wish would be my command and I would do everything to fulfil every dream of yours. But alas, its too late  for thatnow , for the man you chose strangled you to death. Staring at your lifeless corpse,  I recall your last words to me , “You are a lesbian and a life with you is unthinkable” . They reverberate my soul and I deliberate over your decision to choose the world over us. I wish you’d realize that I’d do things differently, if only you would  choose me instead of him.

Both the above tales are for Writetribe.
